i read an article last year about jamie foxx's birthday party. apparently, he invited tom cruise to the ghetto and well, hilarity ensued...but the funniest part is when he talks about how, the black folks wouldn't call Cruise by his name, they just kept referring to him at "The Last Samurai" as in..."Whas Last Samurai doin' up in herre?" my mom does this. alot. and she's an english professor.

i'll post more when i remember them. its just fascinating that her job demands that she's educated about the language, she earned a Master's in it, but refuses to refresh her knowledge beyond the 80's. Whatever the 1976 verision of Merriam Webster says - that's what it is.
